Coaching

What is coaching?

Coaching is a personal and professional learning and development process.

It provides a safe, supportive and empowering space for the "coachee" to think, explore and reflect. It's a partnership between the coach and coachee, and together we find the best way to work together to help you move forward in the way you want to.

This short video gives a simple overview.

Working with Gayle has been life changing. In a few hours we worked through patterns of thought and behaviour that I have struggled with for decades. We made realistic, manageable plans together that felt completely unique and tailored to my circumstances. I'm already seeing benefits to my career and mental wellbeing. Working with Gayle has been like opening a window and letting fresh air into my mind and my life. She was calm, compassionate and has a great sense of humour. I can't recommend working with her highly enough.

As a professional accredited coach, I’ll provide a confidential, safe and trusted space for your learning and reflection.  I’ll act as your thinking partner and support you through each coaching session as you move forward towards your goals.

When you really listen to another person from their point of view, and reflect back to them that understanding, it's like giving them emotional oxygen.

Coaching can be truly transformative and impact on unhelpful entrenched ways of thinking and behaving. I’m interested in working with you to explore under the surface, identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviours, unlocking new possibilities and starting to ‘build the muscle’ that will lead to positive and lasting change.

My coaching style is warm, open and creative which (hopefully!) allows my clients the space and time to think, reflect and develop.

I draw on a broad range of approaches and tools including positive psychology, emotional intelligence, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and cognitive behavioural coaching. I’m not prescriptive however, the coaching relationship is a partnership, between us we’ll figure out the work we need to do together and best way to approach it.

Come to me if …..

You genuinely want to move forwards.

You are open to new ideas and thinking.

You are ready to take action!

It all starts with a conversation

Whether you’re an organisation looking to commission coaching for your teams, or you’re an individual wanting some private coaching, it all starts with a conversation to find out what you’re looking for and whether we’re the right fit. I work with a network of other coaches and am always happy to signpost to other colleagues if needed.

For organisations – I offer group coaching and team coaching, action learning set facilitation and workshops. I am also often commissioned for 1-2-1 coaching supporting aspiring leaders, those moving to new leadership roles or in other work transitions.

For individuals – Some clients come to me directly, not wanting to involve their workplace. This is absolutely fine, we’ll develop a package of coaching that works for you.

Some of my clients come to me because they feel ‘stuck’ and want to review and reflect on their choices and options going forward. Coaching can help us to reconnect with our individual values and purpose especially at various transition points in our lives. Examples include, mid-life, redundancy, returning to work after parental leave, retirement and empty nest.

Shift perspectives and ways of thinking to make deep and lasting personal change.

Take control and be pro-active in your life and career.

Find yourself again after a life transition.
