What is coaching?

Coaching is a personal and professional learning and development process. It encourages and empowers you to take responsibility, be proactive, be reflective and develop the skills that increase your personal, interpersonal and professional effectiveness. The information below relates to individual coaching. I also offer team and group coaching

As a professional coach, I’ll provide a confidential, safe and trusted space for your learning and reflection. By using a combination of listening, observation, questioning, challenge and feedback, I’ll help you increase your insight and self-awareness. I’ll introduce models and tools that will offer you new perspectives. You’ll have my undivided attention. I’ll act as your thinking partner and support you through each coaching session as you move forward towards your goals.

Coaching can be truly transformative and impact on unhelpful entrenched ways of thinking and behaving. I’m interested in working with you to explore under the surface, identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviours, unlocking new possibilities and starting to ‘build the muscle’ that will lead to positive and lasting change.

Coaching is not counselling or therapy, it is proactive and action orientated whilst allowing space to think, reflect and learn. We note past events and experiences, reflect on them in order to gain insights to move forward rather than linger in the past.  

Over the last 10 years I have developed my own creative and experiential coaching style. I draw on a broad range of techniques and tools including positive psychology, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and cognitive behavioural coaching. This is all underpinned with deep listening and astute questions to help you think deeper and gain more insight. You can view my coaching profile here
